IN CELEBRATION OF ITS 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, JOSLIN, UNVEILED ITS NEW ‘MAGNOLIA’ INSPIRED RESORT ’24 COLLECTION, WITH A DEBUT AFTERPAY AUSTRALIAN FASHION WEEK (AAFW) 2023 SHOW AT THE CLOVELLY OCEAN POOL.

The decision to partner with AAFW in 2023 is aligned to the label’s exciting 5 Year Anniversary, and the beachside Show location felt natural. ABOUT THE COLLECTION

Unveiled off-site on the scenic promenade adjacent the Clovelly Ocean Pool, JOSLIN’S RESORT ’24 ‘Cirrus’ Collection showcase was
underpinned by romance, joyous colour, timeless elegance, and an alluring holiday vibe. The new Collection’s minimalist mood is complimented by feminine detailing including signature buttons, ruffles, bows, ties, and crochet trims. Traditional voluminous blouson,
smock, fit and flare, and trapeze silhouettes define the Collection, and are complemented by new drop-waist, layered, pinafore and baby doll pieces that speak to comfort, versatility, and effortless style. Inspired by her love of flowers, RESORT ’24 explores Elinor’s favourite fragrant flower – the Magnolia, symbolic of luck and stability. Its majestic form was incorporated into the design process with intricate hand-sketched motifs – these surface throughout the Collection via the designer’s love of traditional broderie anglaise, crochet, and cluney lace. Every elegant detail designed and handcrafted by JOSLIN’S meticulous makers.

“I have forever been captivated by flowers as a design inspiration, but not from a traditional textile printmaking perspective. I’m intrigued by their dimensional form - nature’s composition of layered petals is truly spellbinding. There is something unmistakably feminine about flowers, and as a symbolic motif, the flower has endured the test of time across all cultures."

The RESORT ‘24 colour palette showcases an array of fresh, sorbet-inspired colours named after individual flowers – Hibiscus Pink, Aster Purple, Dahlia Pink, and a citrus burst of Zinnia Yellow. Like delicate, wispy cirrus clouds at sunset, these colours are tinged with the warmth of a golden Summer sun.

As always, JOSLIN’S neutrals underpin the Collection with timeless appeal – the label’s signature Flax (featuring contrast-coloured black embroidery), cream Alba, Heather, Stone Marle, Black, and Optical White. The new Collection hero’s the label’s celebrated natural fabrications – organic cotton, linen, canvas, batiste, ramie, and silk – the ultra-feminine detailing includes handcrafted crochet, lace, broiderie anglaise embroidery, crochet doilies, plaiting, and new hand-sewn glass beading accents (seen across buttons and floral motifs), to create lustrous intrigue.

Undefined by seasons, RESORT ’24 also features a selection of knitwear – premium, lightweight pieces to offer comfort, versatility, and endless style. The introduction of a unique, hand-knitted embroidered floral motif across a standout wool knit maxi dress pays homage to the Collection’s dimensional floral theme.

Styled by renowned Stylist – Karla Clarke – the RESORT ’24 Runway Show showcased a bold and playful selection of new shoe styles by CROCS – some featuring the brand’s gem-inspired Jibbitz Shoe Charms. Beauty Director, Lara Srokowski created the serene, burnt orange-inspired Beauty Look for LANCÔME, and Hair Director, Pauline McCabe created the textural, grunge-inspired Hair Look for ORIGINAL & MINERAL.
